This didn't happen to me, but actually to my aunts friend. It all happened about 20 yrs. ago or so, and my aunt's friend (I'll call her Terri) was living with her grandma at the time. Terri's grandma had just purchased an ancient portrait of a beautiful Cambodian lady that day from the Asian market. The lady had long black hair, a lot of makeup, and had on many gold jewelry. She also seemed as if she was dancing. She kind of reminded Terri of a gypsy.
When Terri first saw the portrait, she felt very uneasy and knew that something was not right. But when her grandma asked what she thought about it, Terri just told her she thought it was beautiful. She didn't want to tell her what she really thought about it because her grandma seemed to adore it hanging on the living room wall.
Well that day, Terri was bored so she decided to go hang out with some of her friends. Her grandma was knitting at the time and said it was o.k. as long as she came home before it got dark. Right before Terri stepped out the door, she could have sworn she saw the lady in the portrait glare evilly right at her! Now she knew very well that the lady had been smiling before. This really freaked her out, but she just blew it off thinking she was over-reacting.
Well, Terri had a great time seeing some of her friends and hanging out with them. But she suddenly thought about the lady in the portrait and she thought about her grandma. She finally told my cousin and her friends about the lady in the portrait, and to her suprise, they actually belived her. Because apparently one of her friends (I'll say Mari) had the exact same poster 2 yrs. before and her & her family experienced strange and unexplained happenings in their home, so they took it back to the shop.
So Terri and her friends immediately went to her house. When they got there, they found Terri's grandma laying unconscious on the living room floor. Mari called 911, while Terri did CPR. The rest were panicking and freaking out. What was even more freakier was that one of them said with a shaky voice "Is that the portrait you were telling us about?? Because if it is, the lady's gone!" They all looked up at the poster in shock. The portrait was completely blank, there was no lady. About 5 min. later, the ambulance showed up and rushed Terri's grandma to the hospital. Terri went with them, while the others decided to stay and do some investigating. Well, Mari and the others did not ever find the lady. And sadly, Terri's grandma died shortly of a heart attack.
To this day no one really knows what really caused the heart attack of Terri's grandma. Some believe the lady in the portrait scared her to death, and some say she was too old. But the portrait still remains empty, and the mystery still remains unsolved. Well, that was told to me from my aunt. I believe it's true. She hasn't heard from Terri ever since the tragedy. I guess she moved out of the state or something. But thanks for reading my story!
