Well this happened recently, so I thought you all might be interested. A couplw of weeks ago, around 10pm at night I heard a group of boys outside my house. I could hear their laughter, but thought nothing much of it until I heard them approaching the house. A young guy around 16 years old came to my front door, so instead of opening my door up, I spoke through my bedroom door and asked the boy what he wanted. He asked if my eldest son was home and I said no, he doesnt live at home. The young guy then replied, well thats his car out the front and I replied, no its my car now! Well I became suspicious as I know just about all of my sons mates and this boy was quite a few years younger than my son.
So I said to the young guy, I think you better leave now. Feeling suspicious about the incident, I decided to ring my son and tell him about this young guy and his mates as I was surprised this boy, did not know where my son lived. After making the call, I decided to move the car off the front lawn and into the driveway, where I could see it. The group of young guys had moved away from the house and were now hiding in the bushes.
After moving the car, I turned the lights off and went back to my room, only to hear the door handle on the car make a sound. That's it I said outloud and went to the porch to turn the outside light on, then I went to the kitchen to make another phone call to my son, to inform him the boys were perhaps going to try and steal the car ' its a v6, but looks like a v8'. While waiting for my son and his real mates to arrive, I went back to my room to wait. A few minutes later my daughter walks into my room and says to me what were you doing in the garage? to which I replied, I did not go to the garage. She became adamnant and said, "Yes you did! I watched you walk into the laundry and out through the side door into the garage". no matter how hard I tried to convince her that I never went near the garage, but only to the loungeroom and then out through the front door. But my arguement was to no avail as she was absolutely convinced that she watched me go in the other direction to get to the car.
Well all I can say was that it must of been my guardian angel, who took on my appearance so as to not alarm her, while protecting my car. My son and his mates soon arrived and then searched the streets until they found the group of culprits who were in the process of attempting to steal other cars in the neighbourhood. Hence they soon learnt a lesson about why you shoudnt steal cars.
