Haunted House
From: Story type: Ghost Location: Brooklyn, N.Y. Source: Form Submission
An old Brooklyn Brownstone is haunted by evil spirits. Strange sounds, and supernatural forces have been reported for over 30 years. The building is haunted from top to bottom. I've had many encounters with unclean spirits, my very first experience occured during the summer of 1990, when i saw strange balls of green lights, or orbs, moving across my sister's room, stopped by her bed and then vanished.
My family had their own observings of ghostly episodes. In the early 1970's, my dad, who was home watching television, saw a doorknob move on it's own several times. Upon investigation by my dad, he discovered that no one was home in the entire building. In February of 1994, after a six-inch fall of snow, my brother-in law, who lived across the street from my house, was looking out his top floor window that afternoon, and noticed an apparition of a man, dressed in turn of the century clothing, shoveling snow from off the roof of our home. At least a half an hour later, after a thorough investigation of the roof, both he and my father were really spooked to find no footprints in the snow, or obvious signs of shoveling on the rooftop.
Two months later after this mysteries unexplained rooftop incident, my sister and i were talking in the living room, when suddenly we heard the door of the entrance to the top floor apartment slam shut, as though someone, or something came into our apartment. We thought it was either my mother, or father, but when we got up expecting to find someone in the kitchen, no one was there.
The following night, my mom, who was resting on the living room sofa, suddenly heard a weird creaking sound coming from the next room, as if someone sat on the bed. My mom also heard her name being called out several times. the television would turn itself off several times a day. four months later, my nephew, who was six years old at the time, heard what sounded like people laughing in my room, he thought my sister and i were laughing, as soon as he opened the door to the spare room, the laughing sounds stopped dead, then a scary feeling came upon him when he found no one inside.
On October 30th, 1994 my family put our
house up for sale, we had people over to look at
the house. On that very same day, the kitchen stove
blazed up in thick black smoke for no apparent
reason. No one was near the stove when this incident
actually took place.Today the House is still haunted,
no doubt about it.
