Screaming

I'm not sure this is a ghost story, but I kind of think it is and you'll know why in a minute. This is true, just so you know. I have a cousin who is almost four now, but when she was a baby-and for a long time after that-she would just cry. The doctors said that there was nothing wrong with her that they could find. They put her on some pills (I forget what they were called) and she still kept crying. It wasn't a normal cry like a baby who was hungry or something, it was a cry of terror. You could tell, and I know because I am around people a lot and we try to scare each other so I know what a scream when you get scared sounds like and that's what her screams where like, but ore baby-ish. We all started thinking, 'Well, maybe she sees dead people.' I bet to you that sounds really stupid, but there was nothing wrong with her. Sometimes she would just freeze like time had been frozen and stare at something that no one else could see.
When she was three she was in the same house as her Great Grandfather. She had finally stopped her crying spells not to long ago, but every night for two weeks she cried all night. It was the same cries as before. It was chilling to hear them. Her Great Grandfather died after the two weeks and that night and since she hasn't cried.
Well, she's cried, but only as much as a almost four year old cries. So now we started thinking again and one of us thought that she was seeing her Great Grandfather before he died. Yes, that's probably different to hear a person that is alive came back as a ghost to talk to a little girl, but it has happened before. Then I was like 'Well, then why was she scared?' So we haven't thought of an answer. Now when her Grandmother is cooking, she'll be talking a lot older than her age. She wants to know all about what you are doing and she sort of acts like an older lady when she is only almost four. So my mom thinks that she is talking to the dead people, so she is learning to act like them and talk like them. They didn't mention ghosts around her much when one day she says 'Some ghosts are good and some are bad.' or something like that. It was just...different to hear her say that when ghosts isn't a usual thing we talk about around her.
Another thing we could never find out is when her great grandmother was staying with us, she lets our dog out on it's leash. There is a little porch and we had a green hose wrapped around one of the railings. The dogchain wold sit right by it. Her Grandmother walks back in and says 'Where's the leash.' My mom answers 'By the hose.'
She asks 'What hose?' My mom says 'The one on the rail.'
'You have a pink hose?' She asks.
My mom shakes her head.
'Well, then come and show me were it is.' She says.
I walk back there with her and show her were the chain is and she goes 'Where's the pink rug.
'What pink rug?' I ask.
She swears up and down that the green hose was a pink rug. The little girl's other Grandmother has a rug almost just like it, but we could never figure out what that meant.
If anyone has any hunches on why my little cousin was crying or what the pink rug was, please feel free to e-mail me. Thanks for reading and sorry it was so long.
