Uneasy Church Feelings

For community service for my high school, I decided to do cleaning and help people out at my local church. I am very familiar with the church and it's childrens recreation program. Therefore I felt no reason to be afraid or nervous. My first task was to vacuum and stack chairs in the Youth Group Meeting Room. It was really messy so I decided to get to work right away. The room was very large, with many solid wood doors and closets around the room. Play props and large crucifixes were off to one side of the room. I started working, not noticing anything strange. I knocked over a chair accidentally and heard a quiet and irritated "sshhhh!" from the chairs in front of the altar. Well, this shocked me, but I am a very firm believer in the paranormal. I shrugged my shoulders and said in a whisper "I'm only here to clean this up and make it nice for you." Then I continued to clean. When I began to vacuum (it was a very large industrial vacuum), a few times I physically felt someone yank back the cord as if to try to stop my vacuuming. Once the cord actually got unplugged for no reason. I saw things move out of the corner of my eye, but I just whispered to the spirits, telling them that I'm just making the place cleaner so they can pray in peace.

I also had to work in the sanctuary of the church, which is the actual place where sunday mass is held. On the platform near the altar and on the balcony, I could distinctly hear disembodied footsteps and voices. It may have been people downstairs, but not too many people were in that section of the church. I had a panicky feeling whenever I went into the chorus room, which was underneath the stage. Before I entered the room for the first time, I heard very very faint piano notes and a tiny shrilly voice singing. When I entered the room, the singing stopped and I heard a small gasp. There was no one there! This strange activity continued, in every place where God is worshiped regularly. I felt that these ghosts were peaceful and were following their faith as normally as they probably did when they were alive. My mother dismissed this as my 14 year old imagination running away with me, but I could truly sense something paranormal in that place. Thanks!
