Dead Mother Returns
From: Blair (andrews_blair@yahoo.com) Story type: Ghost Location: Brentwood, TN Source: Form Submission
Because my father is such a terrible dresser, my mother was in the
habit of putting her silk scarves around the hangers of his outfits
that matched. She would put her scarve around the neck of the hangers
of slacks, shirts and ties that matched. My father became increasingly
irritated by this practice as it made him feel like a child, so she
quit doing this. A short time later, she died very suddenly. On the
morning of her funeral, I walked into my father's bedroom and he was
sitting on the edge of the bed, looking very pale and stunned. I asked
him what was wrong and he pointed to the back of the closet. There hung
his black wool suit, the suit he only wore to funerals and weddings. On
the hanger was my mother's favorite scarf. No other scarf hung in the
closet.
