Hissing on the Second Floor

After A night of fishing with a few friends of mine, we got bored and decided to have a little thrill so we headed out to this ranch that had been abandoned for a few years. Well we got there with our flashlight and started snooping around looking for stuff that was interesting. Well we headed upstairs and started flashing our light at the ceiling of the second floor hoping to see bats, and saw nothing. Then suddenly this strange loud hissing began resonating from the spot that we had previously searched. There was no possible way that a reasonable circumstance had caused the hissing because the house was abandoned. That means no light, no gas, no water, total silence. So what we witnessed was probably a paranormal experience. What do you think, the sound came form the ceiling. There was nothing there.
