Two Nameplates Misplaced

My grandmother, Barbara, and my grandfather loved to take my sister and I to Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida each year when we were very young. It became something we would look forward to annually and sort of became a tradition in a sense.

Over the years my grandmother developed Leukemia and was unable to make our trips any longer. My family and I actually ended up moving to Florida, but I was lucky enough to see her about twice a year whether she was in a hospital bed or her own.

Our relationship was very strong and the struggle weighed heavy on us both. She eventually grew too ill to go on any longer and, as all things pass, went on to her place in the other side. This happened in October of 1999.

In December of the same year some girlfriends and I decided to plan a trip up to Orlando and made sure to stop at Magic Kingdom one evening. My grandmother was in the back of my mind the entire trip, but the memories were happy so I decided not to let them bother me. When our Disney appetite had been fulfilled we made the customary stop at one of the stores to get our last minute, unecessary souveniers.

My friend, Lauren, and I were thinking about getting a little ring or necklace so we were standing at one of the jewelry turnstyles for a bit. The four sided turnstyle had rings on one side, nameplates on another, and the last two had anklets and bracelets. I couldn't find my name in the nameplates so I settled for a ring.

Lauren tried to help me find one I would like when she noticed that a nameplate was misplaced with the rings and it read my name. This was strange to us both and we both said, "Weird", but we kept on looking just the same. As I looked down though I realized that yet another, but just mine and this only, nameplate was misplaced with the rings. It read Grandma.

The sheer coincidence of the event was enough for me to know that she was saying hello and that she had the same fond memories of us in this special place.

Its something that I will never forget and the reason that I believe that there is a place for beautiful souls to rest and watch over us. If you would like to contact me feel free: bluangel503@yahoo.com
