Was it Real?

I heard something crying one night while I was in the kitchen and, it was some where around midnight. It sounded like it was coming from the rec room and due to past experiences I zoomed out of the kitchen.

The next morning I had asked my dad if we had any pipes busted or someting that could make that type of noise. When he asked why I shared with him the thing I had heard the night before. He said he had heard it too and ever since then as I walk by the kitchen at night i get this weird feeling that something is there, and maybe they weren't crying but supressing a laugh.
