Definitely Wasn't the Dog!

A few years ago, I used to live with my best friend, Pete, and his little British Terrier, Crispy. I was never one to firmly believe in the paranormal, though I saw it possible, it just wasn't something I really put much thought into. Needless to say, I'm now a firm believer!! Pete and I moved into our apartment in 2001, and the building really isn't very old. To this day, we still don't know who, or what was haunting our apartment, but something was definitely present!!!

We had a large glass bowl, filled with glass beads, in the center of our coffee table as tasteful decor. Well, one night, Pete and I had come home from a gathering at a friends house, only to find the bowl about 6 feet from the table, shattered, with little glass beads all over the place! Since the bowl weighed about 25-30 pounds, we knew it couldn't have been Crispy, as he was still a very small puppy and weighed no more than the bowl. We checked the door to see if anyone had broken in...door was fine, and nothing was missing from the apartment. A little freaked out, we cleaned up the mess, and went to bed.

The next day, we were watching TV, when all of a sudden the television turned off on its own...the rest of the power was on, so we thought the TV crapped out on us. About 2 minutes later, the TV turned itself back on, and it was going throught the channels frantically! Pete and I looked at each other, and bolted out of the apartment! We got on the elevator, and went across the street for a pint, to collect our thoughts. When we went back, all the lights were off, but the TV was still on...which was pretty weird because when we ran out of the apartment, we certainly didn't take the time to turn off the lights!

Anyways, the final incident made us find a new home. This was by far the freakiest thing that's ever happened to me! I found out later that the term for what happened to me is called being "hag-ridden". It was about 2:30am, when I woke up because I couldn't breath. I opened my eyes and saw a dark figure of a woman straddling my chest, staring down at me. I couldn't breathe, speak, or move! I was completely terrified! I closed my eyes, and the pressure on my chest finally subsided. I burst into tears and stormed into Pete's room...where he was sitting in his bed holding his knees to his chest, crying just the same. The same had happened to him...the exact same feeling was expressed, so we stayed up till the sun rose, and went apartment hunting! I hope I never experience being hag ridden again!
