A Foreboding
From: Christopher (melancholy_id@yahoo.com) Story type: Angel Location: al fallujah, Iraq Source: Form Submission
I was with the 1/8 Marine Battalion for OIF 2, and part of our mission was to patrol the farmland area outside Fallujah. We did this every day, and at first, nothing serious, a couple of slight skirmishes here and there, but nothing to get too shaken about.
But about 2 weeks into this routine on one day, everybody woke up at the exact same time, 6 hours before reville, for no reason. It's not too difficult to believe, because when people like Marines live together so closely for so long, behaviors start changing. But everybody was feeling down and grim, and we knew that that day was going to be a bad one. People felt sick, thats how nervous everyone felt, for no reason.
On our night
patrol, just as we took a turn onto another unpaved road, an explosion
shook our entire caravan of humvees. Shrapnel tore through our
up-armored vehicals. This was our first IED with ambush, and the funny
thing is, we all saw it coming, almost an entire day prior. I don't
know if this story counts as supernatural or paranormal, but it was odd
to experience. A lot of Iraq was.
