Ghost in My House

This is a true story.
I was sitting at home by myself waiting for my boyfriend or my roommate to get home. It was the middle of the day. The sun was shining through the windows. The way our living room was set up, the couch was on one side of the room and in the middle of the room was the chair and directly across from the chair was the tv.
I was sitting in the chair bored out of my mind wishing someone would just show up. Out of the corner of my eye, I thought I saw someone sitting on the couch. I turned my head and there was nothing there. I thought nothing of it.
The second time it happened (about 5 minutes later) I turned my head to see what was there and it had disappeared again. By now I am a little freaked out, but not much. I had already known the house was haunted by little things being out of place, and doors opening by themselves. I am not a person who is scared of ghosts and have always believed in them.
Well, this particular ghost knew that I was bored and wanted company but I think "he" was a little frightened of showing himself. This third time that it had happened, I saw him out of the corner of my eye. I thought to myself that everytime I turn my head fast to look it disappears.
This time I turned my head very slowly and I seen him, clear as day, looking straight at me. I get chills to this day when I think about it. As soon as he realized that I actually saw him, he vanished.
He was a child, no older than 13 I would guess. He had blonde hair and freckles. He wore a white shirt, and a brown vest. Brown knickers, white socks to his knees, and brown shoes. He also wore a brown hat.
I dont know what time he came from, but if you have ever
seen the show, "Oliver", then he looked sorta like those kids. This
happened in about 1996. I think the poor spirit of this child just
wanted company because he was always letting us know he was there. I
believe he was very sad. I could never find any information on this
house, but it was a very old house and there is a historical marker
right outside in front. It used to be house of some governor in the
early 1900's.
