Out of Body Experience

I had recently returned home to South Africa after spending two years in England. While preparing for sleep in my former bedroom at my parents' house I remember briefly thinking about my grandfather who had passed away in my room a few months earlier. I remember briefly toying with the idea of his spirit remaining behind.

As I climbed into bed and laid my head on my pillow a sudden and enormous pressure was felt above me. The room was pitch black, I couldn't even see the light under the door. I either became deaf or the room went completely silent. I remember this because I was still awake, and this had all happened so suddenly.

I tried to sit up and realized I couldn't move my head or neck. I tried to raise my arm, but I was completely paralyzed. This was all very frightening, and as I became more aware of my paralysis and the bizarre lack of senses around me I also became aware of the increasing pressure from above.

My body was being pushed downwards into the spring mattress, and this is where I gathered every existing ounce of strength I had to try and break the 'force'.

I tried opened my mouth to scream, I couldn't even whimper. I remember the 'force' being heavily dark. I panicked. I don't know how long it had been, but my internal struggles eventually freed me. I ripped myself off my bed and race through my door down the passage and my screams became audible. I got to my parent's room and stood for a while not knowing what had just happened. I was breathing heavily, like I had been choked.

I returned to my bedroom wearily and got back into bed thinking it was a little panick attack. However, as soon as I returned to my rest position it happened again, as suddenly as it did before. This time however I sat up immediately and then left the room. I did not sleep that night.

I spoke to my father, who is a psychologist and practitioner of Astral Travel, who said that it probably was not a bad energy, but an OOBE that I was not prepared for. He said that the next time it happened I should embrace the dark and not fight it.
