The Thing on the Pillar
From: Javier Garcia (Meteocal@hotmail.com) Story type: Ghost Location: Teocaltiche, Jalisco, Mexico Source: Form Submission
When I was a child, we lived in a house that was built in an old cemetery. We went through so much that I have decided to continue writing about other experiences in that house. Previously, I wrote "Mad Haunting" for the March submissions. Well this experience came before that.
It was an evening like any other, Cold and dark. We were getting ready to go to bed when my parents came through our room on the way to the bathroom. The toilet was located out side of the house in a small room without a ceiling in the back yard. The back yard was about two acres surrounded by very tall dilapidated walls, which meant that to go to the bathroom, anyone would have to take a somewhat long walk through the brush and old dead trees that inhabited the house with us.
About 20 minutes later our parents came through our room and demanded that we lock the doors and go to sleep. I could tell that there was something wrong because my mom was pale. I got scared.
The following morning during breakfast I could tell that my mom wanted to tell us something but my dad would give her a weird eye, like telling her not to say a thing. But she started by telling us that she saw something last night when they went to the bathroom. "Last night when your father and I went to the bathroom," She begun to say, "I saw a figure of a thing seating on top of the pillar behind the bathroom. I first thought it was some drunk guy spying on us but because it was so dark I would only see the out line,"
She continue telling us as she and my older sister were serving us, "Your father was waiting for me out side and I did not feel threatened until the moon light revealed what seem to be a man with the head of a goat," We all looked at each other when she said that, "When I saw what was on top of the pillar was not human," She continued, " I begun to scream but no sound came out of my mouth. I think I passed out because when I woke up, I felt I was being carried by your dad. Your dad ask me to come to my senses before we entered the house so that we would not alarm you. Fearing that whatever was back there followed us, we asked that you all keep your doors locked. When we entered our room I asked your dad if he saw anything and he said that he did not see a thing." My mom said to us crying.
My dad tried to cover her story by
saying that it was probably her imagination. But he was not being very
convincing . This time he was worried as well.
