Another World

I lived at a motel for awhile during a rough spot in my marriage. One afternoon, feeling depressed,I decided to lay down on my single bed for a quick nap.As soon as I put my head on my pillow I fell into a deep dark sleep. After an hour or so I began to emerge from my rest.Even as I was awakening I had a strange feeling that something was very different.I woke up in a room that although in many respects was the same one I had gone to sleep in,there was something different about it-something I couldn't put my finger on.
I got up and went to the window and looked out into what I can only describe as "another place".Although everything on the surface was seemingly the same,I had a very deep seated inner conviction that I had arisen in an alternate reality. This feeling was so strong that I felt a rush of sublime beauty and mystery course through my body. I knew I had just arrived in another reality.
It was then that I felt myself being drawn away-as if my very essence somehow detected that I did not belong here. The next thing I knew,I was spinning through a kind of vacuum unable to tell left from right or up from down, totally divorced from all sensation or feeling. I began to become gradually aware of a feeling of rocking back and forth,as it turned out I was still in bed and rolling around trying to get some kind of bearing. Then without further notice I fell straight out of bed.
Most of you will no doubt say,"you just had a weird dream"
but this was very different. The sensation of being "elsewhere"was too strong to wrap my mind around, and I still believe that for a few seconds at least,I layed eyes on another world.
