Dog Food & Gargoyles

During my late elementary school years and all throughout middle school, I had this one friend, she was a pretty nice girl, but she did have some problems; her parents were divorced, she had panic attacks frequently, and she wasn't very good at blending in and being social.

But we were best friends.

I was at her house almost everyday after school and I slept over at her house almost every weekend, one or both nights. I knew her really well and she knew me. We trusted everything that we said to each other, we wouldn't lie.

Now this may sound a bit weird, but bare with me and realize the strangeness of some of the other excentric stories on this site...

I was at her house one day (her name was Rachel) and we were doing something, not out of the ordinary, but I don't remember what exactly it was. We were probably eating or watching TV when we found some dog food laying around. We thought that maybe her dogs had carried it in, or maybe even a mouse, so we dismissed it...

Until we saw more...

We had been looking at her mom's jewelry, it was in the box. We found it folded in her mom's clothes, folded in blankets, in nearly every one of their shoes, in pockets, in glasses, in cabinets. In the basement there were sealed containers and plastic bins with it in there.

And the 2 places that creeped me out the most-

There was a collector's Barbie doll in her basement. It had never been opened before, the tape was still intact. Inside the box were a couple loose pieces of dog food, but there were also pieces taped to the inside. TAPED. That ruled out the dog theory.

That day we had gone around the house (Rachel, her mom and I) and collected the food and filled a large popcorn sized bowl. That ruled out the mice theory.

I knew what to think about it, but not why. They had told me that their house was haunted before, but I didn't know how they knew before this, I had never asked...

They eventually stopped finding dog food and we had all dismissed the fact that their house had a spirit in it.

I believe that this story came after the dog food one and is a little less weird sounding, but it scared me just as much if not more-

I was at Rachel's house and we were walking to the office to go on the computer. To get from the TV room to the office we had to walk through the dining room, were they had a display case, or China cabinet if you will. On the top of their China cabinet, they had three gargoyles lined up. They were small, they looked like styrofoam, but they were hard, hard enough that if it fell on someone's head it would knock them out or possibly kill them.

So we were walking by the China cabinet, I was on one side of it walking towards the office and Rachel was following behind me, the cabinet's length between us. All of a sudden one of the gargoyles fell off...or I should say flew off and landed nicely on the floor, maybe six feet in front of the cabinet. I would have blamed it on a train passing by had a train been passing by at the time (it was very close to her house (in her backyard)) but there wasn't a train. The weirdest part about that was the fact that the gargoyle didn't break and that the wooden floor wasn't dented or scratched. It was because the gargoyle seemed to slow down before it hit the ground. It would have broken or scratched the floor had it not been slowed down. There wasn't anything but Rachel, me, the flying gargoyle and the spirit that will forever haunt that house.

It's been a while since then and I have stopped talking to Rachel and have not gone back in that house. I would like to talk to her if she reads this, so if you know her please email me. Thanks!
