Dr. Luv

I have had severe lung problems since the day I was born, I attribute that partially to being 6 weeks premature. When I was six months old I came down with what was thought to be just a simple cold and my doctor told my mom to just bring me home and give me Dimetapp and I would get better with time. My mom did just as she was told and the next day I was even worse, so she brought me back to the doctor. This time he proceeded to yell at her and tell her that it was just a cold and to bring me back home and continue to give me Dimeatapp. The next morning when my mom woke up she walked into my room and saw that my face was turning blue. My mom called my grandma because she was panicking and didn't know what to do. My grandma told her to get me to a different hospital so I could see a new doctor.. and fast.
So my mom brought me to the emergency room of a larger hospital on the other side of town. By this time I was completely blue and barely breathing. I was immediately taken into a room and seen by a doctor, known as Doctor Luv. He began resuscitating me as he asked my mom about the symptoms I was experiencing before this episode and if I had seen a doctor earlier. My mom explained everything that happened with the other doctor and Dr. Luv was shocked at how my mom was treated by my doctor and the fact that he did nothing to rule out a more serious infection. He proceeded to order a chest x-ray and the normal work-up to reach a diagnosis. After the results were in he came back in the room and told my mom that I had a severe case of pneumonia. He told my mom that Dimeatapp was the worst thing to give me with that, and if I would have been a few seconds later arriving at the emergency room I would not have survived.
I spent several days in the pediatric intensive care unit before my discharge. Upon leaving the hospital the nurse that admitted me asked who my doctor was, and my mom told her Dr. Luv. The nurse had never heard of him and proceeded to check the records to see who he was. There was no record of that doctor at the hospital, and to this day it is still not known who he was. I believe he was an angel sent to save my life. Why, I have no clue. Maybe one day I will find out.
