Flapping Sounds

I moved into a apartment back in early July of this year.I was putting up my shower curtain in the bathroom and the door was closed. My two budgee birds were in their cages and were in the bathroom with me. I swear,I heard flapping sounds that they make when they fly around. I looked really fast and turned around and they were not flying around in the cages at all. The sound came from the hallway outside of the door. It was that sound and it faded away into the the distance through the door of my apt. That was kind of strange and scarey at the same time. I hope nothing like that happens again.
