I'm 14 and about two years ago at my best friends birthday party, we were eating lunch, and the swing that was tied to the tree started moving. As I looked out the window I saw a little girl sitting on the swing and asked if my friend knew her. My friend replied that she couldn't see anything. I went over to the door but she had disapeared.

I sat back at the table and looked out the window again, and there she was, brown hair swaying in the wind. Again I asked if anyone knew who she was and why she was in the yard, and again I was told that no-one was there. I eventually stopped asking everyone and just watched her. She was wearing an old white nightgown and looked to be about 8 or 9.

I looked into the mirror that afternoon long after my little ghost girl had disappeared and she was standing behind me in the lounge room. I gasped and spun around, but she wasn't there. I looked back into the mirror and she was still there. Her baby blue eyes staring into my wide brown ones. She just stood there watching. It seemed I could only see her through some sort of glass, like the window and the mirror. She looked frightened and I wanted to talk to her and ask her what was wrong. I went and sat in the lounge room away from the party.

I said "Hello, are you still here? What's the matter? You don't have to be scared, please talk to me." I looked in the mirror hanging on the opposite wall she was standing behind me. Then she shrugged her shoulders and with a look of horror on her face she disappeared. I never saw her again but just recentally I've been dreaming about her, but she looks older in my dreams, about 12 or 13. And for some reason, I'm always chasing her, and she is scared out of her wits! It's like I have a bad desire to give her a name. I think she's trying to contact me or tell me something. I wish I knew what was wrong.
