Ghost in My House

I just bought a house that I have lived in for 5 months so far. I've had a few occurrences of being woken by a ghost. The first happened while I was sleeping on the couch, since my husband snores and I have troubled sleeping at times. I felt a presence, which I had believed to be my husband, come and wake me. "It" woke me by pushing on the back cushion of the couch right beside my head three quick times. I faked a snore, since I did not want to wake up. Eventually, I decided to open my eyes and see what my husband wanted. No one was around, but it felt as if a presence had just left the room. I decided to go back to sleep, not thinking much about it, but then quickly decided to look at the clock to see what time it was. It was almost 5:00 AM. My husband has to get up at 4:30 AM for work. I always wake up in the morning when he does, since I'm a light sleeper. So I thought I'd check on him. He was still asleep, and I noticed his alarm clock had not been set the night before. I woke him up. He got ready in a hurry and was off to work.

A second time was almost the same. There were three quick pushes on the back cushion of my couch beside my head. This wake-up call was because my daughter had not set her alarm clock either. This wake-up call was just in time for her to get ready for school.

A third time was only a passing by me, but did not wake me up, since I woke up instantly when I felt "its" presence. A fourth time was the same as this.

I do not know for certain that anyone has died in my house. The family that lived here before me bought the house new in 1958 and had lived there ever since. The names of the four children, who are alive and well to my knowledge, are in the cement of my driveway. The mother's first name happens to be the same as one of my great grandmothers. She had died of breast cancer, although I do not know the location of her death. I had first assumed that it was in a hospital, but perhaps that is not the case. I had heard a rumor that the husband slept and practically lived in the sunroom with his dog after she died. He avoided the rest of the house. He lives in a nursing home now.

When I do feel the presence, it always seems to come from the hallway, which enters into the living room where I'll sleep sometimes, and leaves towards the sunroom.

It appears that I have a friendly ghost who likes to make sure all is well in the early morning. I do not sense it at other times of the day, nor do I feel any negative energy. I suppose I can find comfort in knowing that it will wake me up, should anything be amiss.
