This happened to me back around 2001 when my wife and I were just dating. A little background first: My wife's family lives in another state so at the time, she would take trips every so often to visit her parents and I would spend the night at her apartment to watch after her 2 dogs. We figured boarding them would have been too expensive for the weekends. For anybody who's familiar with Oak park, IL it is an old, very old suburb of chicago, and some of the houses and apartments here were built back in late 1800's.

Here goes, i've always felt a little weird in that apartment every time I was there like a presence, but my wife never felt anything the whole 8 years she lived there. the very first night I was watching the dogs, i was feeling tired so I decided to walk towards the bedroom.....during this time, I felt like someone was watching me and I immediately got goosebumps....i couldnt believe something like this would be happening to a 30 year old man...but wait, it gets better.......

my wife kept a little night lite in the hallway right outside the bedroom door...so about 20 minutes after I tucked myself into bed, I saw a shadow move across the hallway from the bathroom to the living room...i knew it couldnt have been lights from a car, cause her apartment faced a courtyard. SO i got up to check..of course..nothing...and the dogs were still sleeping in the same spots I had left them.

I got back into bed. At about 3:30am, i heard one of the dogs start barking and then she began to cry....i thought I was going to faint at that point, so i got up and turned on the light and there she was just staring in the direction of the living room first....then her head turned slowly (as if she was following someone), towards the hallway, then into the bedroom where I had been sleeping.

I pulled her towards the bedroom to show her that nobody was there, but she didnt want any part of it....needless to say, I didnt go back in that bedroom, i just sat on the couch and watched a comedy....I persuaded my wife to move outta there and nothing like that ever happened again.
