Haunted Quadrangle

My one and only 'supernatural' experience concerns some work I did at a former hospital, which was at the time, around 1998, being converted into luxury flats, in a large town within Yorkshire.
One of my colleauges had previously worked into the night on some electrics and had locked himself into the building as he worked. He was alarmed to hear footsteps coming toward him, up the corridor of the building, which was basically a large square, single storey old persons unit, with a paved garden in the middle. No access was possible from anywhere else. The footsteps got nearer, but my colleage would look out, down the corridor and nothing was to be seen.
As he continued his work they got closer and closer until he could take no more and ran out and drove off and he came to the local pub and told us the tale. He is a very typically down to earth lad, not easily frightened.
After this I began to notice odd things, like lights being turned off as you walked past a room, but when you walked around the quadrangle, back to the same point, they would be turned on, or doors that were open would be shut.
Late on in the project, I was alone, with the place locked, doing some work at about 13-00 hrs when I stopped suddenly to hear a trolley being pushed along the lino floor towards me from the other side of the building.I could hear womens voices, two women, but could not tell what they were saying. It could not have come from outside, the sound was most distinctive. Needless to say I ran around the corner toward the noise, which stopped..and no one was there.
The building itself is now demolished. Voices of the past?
