We were living on the top floor of an old house that had been converted into a second apartment. All kinds of strange things occured. The apartment was completely carpeted except the bathroom. In the middle of the night my husband heard the sound of high heels walking on a hard surface in the livingroom, the carpeted livingroom.

A few times when no one was living there we heard the downstairs door slam very hard and it would shake the building. When we went down to check the door was bolted shut. Other times when I was in the bathroom I could hear the sound of someone pulling the string in the closet below to turn on the light, when no one lived there, and often the sound of something falling and hitting the tile in our bathroom.

The next people to move in below us stayed only a couple of months and we later learned that the man would wake up every night as though he were being choked.
