When I was about 10 or 11 years old, my year and I were going on our regular field trip to Boreatton Park (an activity place). At night-time we went into the old hall house to do certain activities and games. Legend has it that when there is a presence of fun and happiness in the hall, a little girl appears on the stairs and starts to cry for her mother. My form were doing funny modelling, when we heard a horrible squeal for help. I remember it clearly. "Mummy! Mummy help me! Daddy's here, he's here! Please help me!" We all ran upstairs, even though the teachers made us stay downstairs. There was a faint misty image of a little girl, and she was terrified. She pointed at my shoulder (almost behind me) and I turned around. All of a sudden a grey face of a man seemed to almost roar in my face, and I heard a horrible scream. I turned back to where the girl was stood and all that was left was a small puddle of water from where she was stood. Unusually, that night I fainted, and my friend said to me that I had been shouting for "mummy."
