The Lady On The Landing Article. Further to article. 2.11.2006.

I tried, unsuccessfully to send an email to the author of 'The Lady On The Landing'. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Roger and Coral Calcott I would be grateful to get this message to them.

The house was a strange place and in the 1970's with very little street lighting it was a very claustraphobic feeling. The following is the email I sent to Hannah Dixon - the author of the article.

Hi I just did a search for Roger Calcott and found your article. My ex- wife and I were friends when Roger & Coral were in Boscastle and were the motive for us to move to Cornwall in 1976. I would dearly love to get in contact with them again if you can help. I was known as Ken Dixon and my ex- wife Linda, we moved to Marhamchurch, near Bude with our son Simon and I later had a shop in the Old Mill and then in the cottages in the Old Mill gardens above Jim Whitehand the Marine Artist (he, with his wife used to paint and sell marine paintings on slate) next door was Paul Broadhurst with his, then wife, Jane and his mother Kit (who used to make candles upstairs), Paul now owns the cottages and I have gone down several times since moving to Gloucestershire in 1980. I now live in Somerset between Glastonbury and Wells. We stayed in the house and had the worst night of our lives; we had the bedroom immediately to the right when at the top of the stairs. We, I believe, had to get drunk to go to bed and that didn’t work. The feeling was as its worse half way up the stairs. Coral worked for Roger the Potter at the time, that’s how we first met; they were both Hippy and lovely people. They originally came from Harrow, Hertfordshire I believe, and they had friends who, the husband was an architect – they also knew a girl (we were young then) called Hilary who, I believe was also a teacher. I was under the impression that they moved towards Launceston.

Well I hope you can help. Should you be able to contact them and they agree please send them my love and if they would like to contact me (email: k.michaeldixon@btinternet.com)

Many thanks

K.Michael Dixon (interesting connection we share the same surname and I have a granddaughter called Hannah!)
