Run Over, But Lucky

So, I was in the 8th grade, and I was really into skateboarding, not that i'm not anymore. A couple of my friends, my little brother and I are out in the street skating. My older brother and his friends were watching us and getting ready to leave.

Thinking it would be cool to do since it was always in movies and on video games, we convince one of the kids to let us skitch, or hold on to the back of his car while we're on our skateboards and he's driving. So my friend and I start doing it, and it's a pretty long street so we still got a while to go. He slows down and my friend lets go, but I accidently slide up to the backseat window and hold on to that because he starts driving again.

This time going pretty fast and getting faster, about 40mph, I start getting worried. I bang on the driver seat window telling him to slow down and he ignores me. So I figure that I have two choices, either jump and get hurt, or try to stay on till the end of the road which was only another 100 feet away.

My board starts wobbling and I know I'm getting ready to fall. I felt myself starting to feel face first towards the car so I pushed away from the car instead. He ran over my legs and I hit my head and got knocked out. I didn't even really realize what happened and I was crawling over to the grass before everyone ran down to see if I was okay.

All bloodied up and dizzy, I tried to stand up and just fell back down because my legs hurt so bad and I thought I might have broken my shin bone. Something definetly happened to my foot but I kept it from my parents because I didn't want to get me or the kid driving in trouble. If I never pushed away from the car I think I would've slid face first under the car instead and I was in between the tires, so I might have gotten my head run over and could've died from that. The kid driving claims he never even knew I was holding on and he would've kept driving if it wasn't for the person in front of who saw and stopped in the middle of the road.

But anyways, I think it was a NDE and if your a skateboarder and reading this, just don't do stupid stuff like that because it sucks.
