Something Woke Me Up

Our youngest daughter, Johanna, is 15 months old and, this week, has 4 molars breaking through at once. Poor thing. Two times this week I have gotten up with her and brought her to the main floor to "sleep" on the couch; she shares a room with her 4-year-old sister, and we don't want to wake her up.

Like I said, we go to sleep on the couch. When Joey sleeps, she can move around a lot, depending on the day. To help, I kick out the foot rest at the end of the couch. Without this, I probably wouldn't put her on the couch opposite me. It's just that berber carpet leaves a lot to be desired in the area of comfort!

Like I said, we have gone through 2 rounds this week, and I am really, really searching for answers to what I experienced on those nights. From a deep sleep (after I had calmed her down and gotten her back to sleep on the other end of the couch) I sat up with my arms out and caught her on her way, head-first, to the unforgiving floor.

I have had other experiences with what I believe were spirits in our house, but I have never experienced anything like this - where I seem to have been the guardian angel, or at least the one who got the assist :)
