Sudden Noise

In the summer time in 2002,I walked into my parent's kitchen to just lay down on the chesterfield. I just closed my eyes for only two seconds(I was not asleep).and,I heard this sudden loud noise hit the side of the house! I got up slowly and looked out the window right beside me. And,I wondered, "What was that?" It is disturbing considering the sudden noise. I should mention,my parents and I live in a community that is mostly quiet. And,there was no wind outside that night. I checked on that after it happened. Anyway,I went into the porch and looked out the window(there's a outside light on). I didn't see anything and it was quiet. When I heard that noise,it sounded like someone took a baseball bat and hit a baseball very hard! I could even feel the vibrations in the wall next to me and the window was shaking next to that wall. The window didn't crack and there was no mark on the house from the outside. This has never happened again. I still think it was strange,though.
