2 OOBE's

As a young child in Louisiana, I experienced 2 OOBE's.

The first happened when I was about 4...1970? I was playing outside beneath a large oak tree, when I felt something land on the top of my head. I suddenly found myself about four feet above myself, looking down, onto the top of my head. There, I saw a large oak leaf with the strangest looking bug I'd ever seen! I was immediately back inside my body, badly frightened by the bug. I brushed the leaf from my head and ran inside.

It was several years later before I was able to identify the bug: it was a praying mantis!

My second OOBE happened in the emergency room where I'd been taken after I was hit by a car. The accident happened a couple of months before I turned 8yo, and the police report had it listed as "fatal." I "died" several times on the way to the hospital (that was an hour and a half away) and was revived each time. I ended up in a coma for 3 weeks, with a severe concussion and a broken femur, along with several bumps and abrasions (I'd been thrown about half a block from the impact site). It was while I was in the ER and the medical team was assessing me that I felt myself rise up, out of my body. I passed into and then through the huge lights being used to closely check me. I watched the doctors working on me from a corner of the room. When I awoke from my coma, three weeks later, I related these events to my mother and included details about the number of people in the room and the various machines I'd seen. She, of course, knew I could not have made something like that up.

It is my belief that my having "died" after the accident has been a kind of bridge between this side of the veil and the other, since my life has been full of "paranormal" activity that continues to this day.
