Black Shadow

Something woke me the other night at around 2:30 am. I checked the clock. Normally it is pretty dark in our bedroom, living in the country, but this night the neighbors behind us left their outside light on. It was shining into our bedroom just enough that the room was not totally dark.

As I lay there I thought I saw a dark figure come out of our bathroom, pass in front of the armoire and stop beside it as if to hide from my view.

At this point I sat up in bed. The shadow turned and, as if it were wearing a cape swung it, then left the room through the bedroom door.

I got up and followed after it into the hall and foyer. There was nothing there. I checked the burglar alarm and it was set so I know that no one came in from outdoors.

I did not see any glowing eyes, just a black shadow. I wonder what it was?
