The Courteous Ghost

This story has to do with a boy, in my year at school, whos dad committed suicide my hanging himself in his unit in the small town of Alstonville, NSW Australia.

This unit that he killed himself in was one of around 15 others in the complex. My best friend's mum just moved into one of these units a few weeks after the incident. My friend and her mum were both experiencing something strange. They would go to open any door in the house and an inch or two away from grabbing the handle, the door would then open itself. Other people in this set of units were claiming that the same thing was happening to them as well!

One night my best friend had a few of us girls over to stay the night. We were sitting on mattresses in the lounge room right next to the front door, which was closed. My friend started to tell us about these experiences she was having with the doors opening etc. One friend didn't believe her and said it wasn't possible and right after she said that the front door opened by itself. I was so freaked out i scream! But my skeptical friend said "it must have just been the wind and the door wasn't shut properly". So we got up and shut the door, pushed on it to make sure it was properly shut and sat back down. We changed the topic but then about 5 minutes later, the door opened again! This time we knew it was real! We got up and made sure we locked the door this time.. putting a pot plant in front of it too so it wouldnt open again! I was so freaked out the entire night i could barely sleep. They didn't end up living in that unit for more than a month.
