Creepy Instances

I am 22 yrs old and have had a few weird things happen to me in my lifetime. The first happened in 1993 when I was eight years old.
My mother, step-father, two little sisters and I were living in Columbus, OH. I don't remember the month in which this occurred, but I can remember the day clearly. Before I start on what happened, let me tell you a little about the house we were living in at the time. It was an old 2-story duplex with hard-wood floors. Our next door neighboor was an old lady that lived there for years. My mother stopped by occasionally to chat with her. I'll explain later why this is relevant.
I didn't notice anything abnormal about the house until a few months of living there. My sister Sarah was 4 at the time, and my youngest sister Tayler was about 2. My mother and I would notice Sarah talking to herself at times. We didn't really think anything of it. We just thought, maybe she has an imaginary friend, as a lot of young kids do. We spent most of our time on the main floor in the living room. Sometimes you could be sitting watching TV and hear doors upstairs open and slam shut. My mom thought it was odd, but thought maybe it was just a draft causing them to do it.
A can remember a couple of times walking to the kitchen or through the hallway and just feel a really cold rush past through me. The hairs on the back of my neck would literally stand on end. I was young, so I couldn't explain why that happened, I just remember having this really uneasy feeling when it did. I never heard or saw anything until one afternoon. It only happened to me once.
I went upstairs to our bedroom. My little sisters and I all shared a room. It was a large room with two closets. I was getting something out of my closet but can't remember what. I can just remember standing in front of the closet with it's door open and looking at the mirror at myself. I was always a little girly-girl at heart. As I was standing there I heard a soft voice, almost a loud whisper say "Stay here". I thought maybe it was just my mom putting laundry away in the other closet so I wasn't scared, So I asked, "What did you say mom?" Then I heard the voice again. It was deffinately a womans voice. It said, "Stay here, don't leave me". I looked around the room frantically, getting a little scared now, wondering who was talking to me. I ran over into the other closet but no one was there. I then looked over to the window thinking that maybe it was the wind but the window was closed, I was all alone in the room. That's when I got really scared and started to make a run for it to the door, as I made my first few steps, I heard the voice one more time and the door slammed in front of me. I hustled to get the door open and ran down the hallway and down the stairs as fast as I could. I almost fell down the steps, I was running down them so fast. No one was in the living room or the kitchen so I ran out into the backyard. My step-dad was out there planting some plants.
I asked him, is mom here? I thought I heard here talking to me. I didn't want to tell him what happened because I didn't want him to think I was crazy. Then he said, no, your mom has been at the store with Sarah and Tayler. My stomach felt like it was in my chest, only then did I realize that it was a ghost that had talked to me in my room!
Well, when my mother came home, I told her what happened. She believed me. She sat me down and we had a talk. She said, Casey, I have to tell you something. I didn't want to tell you before because I didn't want to scare you or your sisters. Your sister Sarah told me that her imaginary friend is a woman that talks and plays with her all the time. My mother told me the name of the lady that Sarah gave her. I can't remember the name, but it was an unusual name. My mom and I didn't know what it meant, but we decided to go talk to the neighboor lady since she had lived there for years. While we were talking to her the old woman asked my mom why our doors are always opening and slamming shut. She told my mom when this would happen, but my mom said, that's impossible Marty, we are never at home during that time of day. Then my mom started talking about Sarah and her imaginary friend. The old lady started having a frightened look in her eyes. She asked my mom of the name my sister gave her of the "imaginary friend". When my mom told her the name, Marty about fell out of her chair. She said, Karla I have to tell you something. "About 15 yrs before you moved in, there were two sisters that lived in your house. One of them was an alcoholic, and the other was fed up with her sisters ways and moved out. Shortly after one of them moved out, the other drank herself to death. They found her dead in your kitchen! The name of the "imaginary friend" is the name of the lady that died in your house!" My mom and I were petrified. We shortly moved out of that house after that.
Some years later, I was thinking about what happened and decided to ask my sister Sarah about her experiences. She told me that when she first saw the lady, she just figured that it was one of mom's friends because she looked like an everyday person. She said that she thought it was weird though that the woman only talked to her, so she had asked the woman (ghost) why she did that. I'm guessing that's why the woman decided to talk to me that day. Well, my sister said things got really weird when the woman started confronting her whenever we would leave and come back home from school, running errands, or whenever leaving the house and coming back home. She said the woman had a fear of people leaving her. Today, I guess the woman is stuck in that house unable to cross over because of her fears of people leaving her because of her sister leaving her. I'm guessing that's why she told me to stay that day I heard her talking to me. Imagine that!
I know it's a crazy story, and I don't expect people to believe it, but it really happened to me. You don't believe in ghosts until you experience it yourself. I must say, it's a rather creepy instance.
