My husband & I are renting a 102 year old house. I come from a big family, part of them consisting of 4 older brothers. They always liked to play pranks & try to scare me & one of my sisters. It always worked on her but not me. I have lived by myself in the past & I just don't scare easy.

I have always believed in spirits, ghosts, angels & demons. We have been renting the house we live in for 1 & 1/2 years now. The house was totally rennovated before it was leased to us.

As soon as we looked at the house I knew I wanted to live here... it just felt right. After a couple of months I started seeing shadows. You know what I mean, you think you see something in the corner of your eye but it's fleeting but usually not really there. I began to pay more attention & noticed that they were on the kitchen floor at times & other times up on the cabinets. I waited for at least another month before I told my husband about it. He was skeptical but after a while he confirmed that he had saw them too.

THEN CAME THE NOISES. For quite some time, the dining room behind the kitchen starting getting noisy almost every night around 12:30. It sounded as if someone dropped a 12/16 oz. cup on the tile floor but with no 2nd noise such as if an empty cup was dropped. I heard it for quite some time. Finally, on night my husband was up later than normal. I was curled up on the living floor where you can see the kitchen & into the dining room. The cup noise came again & my husband came running down the hall in his boxers & sword in hand. I didn't even get up as you get used to it. I had to laugh & told him that he couldn't kill what wasn't there and/or already dead. It was funny then.

As the weeks passed, things kicked up a notch. We have 3 bedrooms, 1 we never use...basically storage. We hear on a regular basis what sounds like a large cardboard box being thrown against the wall. This happens in the living room, our bedroom & the unused bedroom. Friends or family come over & they hear it but choose to ignore it or are quick to leave. Doors have opened & stayed up, or closed back slow & a total of 3 times slammed.

One day I was taking a nap on the living room couch & my husband was on the computer in the back bedroom. Someone had their hands on my ankles & was shaking my legs. I thought it was my hubby but I opened my eyes & I could hear him playing the computer games toward the back of the house. Well, I can be quite a sleepy-head. I went back to sleep & it happened again. That ended my nap but I didn't feel threatened.

Our house is wood & it makes the usual 'old house noises'. I grew up in one so I know what those noises are. One of my brothers, a bachelor, stays the night with us about once a week (he's my buddy) & there have been times he has woke me up... "damnit, I can't get any sleep because of all the noise coming from the 'front room' (the storage room). Now it is not rodents as my husband does pest control for a living.

I have only been really scared about 4 times. One of those times I was cleaning house & my set of many keys flew about 5 feet across the room & hit me in the forehead, leaving a mark for a couple of hours. I grabbed my cell phone, a bottle of water, a xanax & sat on the front porch for about 2 hours before I came back in.

Does anyone out there know how I research the history of the house I am renting? I strongly believe that we have mostly good spirits/ghosts. But there is definitely 1 ghost or whatever that doesn't seem to like me.

if anyone out there knows how I can find out my house history...contact me at jlk@cfl.rr.com Take care & it's nice to know that I am not all alone with these things happening.
