Did I see what I thought I saw?

Okey this is what went down, one night my family and I was wacthing a movie (Charile and the cholate factory) in the living room. (I was 13 years-old), My little sister, the age of 8, asked me to get her a blanket so I went up stairs to get one. Now my house was really big, we had 4 flights of stairs. Now then when I finally got to the top (because my room was at the top) I at my doorway of my room, the lights were off but the lights from outside (street lights) were shining in alittle bit so I could see. Then I stopped. . . right there was a shadow, it was all black, it looked as if it was a man with a long rain coat-like coat on, with a long hat covering it's face. It's just standing there looking at me, the lights from outside was on the shadow, I just stood there looking at it wondering if I was seeing what I thought I was looking at. Was it real or was it just my mind playing tricks on me? Now that about 2 or 3 minutes passed by it hit me to just run to get away from it. I ran so fast, I didn't even know I could run that fast (I even jumped over one case of stairs) I didn't even care I just wanted to get the hell out of there. When I finally got to the living room, I was so happy but still scared of what I just saw(or thought I did.) I told my family happened, they really didn't belive me but I knew what I saw or didn't. Now my sister wanted her blanket already so she got it her-self, when she came back I asked her if she saw anything but she said "I didn't see anthing". Then everyone was like "See nothing was up there"' but I didn't listen to them. Now every time I tell this story I get goose bumps and I get a flash back of what happened that night. From that night on I didn't see anything else but I will always rembember that night and what happen or didn't.
