I was on vacation in the Outer Banks, North Carolina back in 2005. When I came home, I went immediatley to the XBOX in our basement. I turned it on, and threw in Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. I started skating in Beverly Hills, and all of a sudden, my character kept switching from regular to goofy. My finger was nowhere near the button. So, I figured it must be my controller. I switched, thinking it would stop. It didn't.

After I went through all four of our controllers, I started asking myself: "What if this is a ghost?" So, I asked aloud: "If there is someone here with me, can you give me a sign of your presence? Maybe make my character switch again?" I looked at the screen, and my character switched to goofy. My heart started to pound. I asked: "Are you a boy? A girl? Switch once for boy, twice for girl." It switched twice. "How old are you? Once for younger than ten, twice for older than ten." Twice. "Are you older than 13? Once for yes, twice for no." Once. "Are you older than 20? Once for yes, twice for no." Twice. "Are you 18? Once is yes, twice, no." Once. I had an 18 year old female ghost in my basement. "When did you die? Once for before 1994, twice for afterwards." Twice. "Once for before 2004, twice for after." Once. "2003? Once is yes, twice is no." Once.

Anyway, we started to talk more and more. Now, even though she's dead and I'm...not, we're almost best friends.
