FRIENDS OF LIGHT

I was about 8 years old, which means my brother was about 6 or 7 at the time. We were both playing outside our home one late summer day. It was getting dark, and we both saw two (could have been three) balls of light, in our neighbor's backyard, but high enough so that we could see them over the fence. We commented as we looked at them in amazement. It was almost as if they "saw" us b/c the lights came to us. We were on the carport and I remember them being about the size of a tennis ball or so. They twinkled like stars--changing colors as they moved. We watched them for what seemed like forever but what surely was nearly 5 minutes or so. We didn't speak to each other except for an initial "oooh, what are they?" And "do you see them too?" The spheres floated and danced and zipped around near us. Moving in close and then moving as far as 10 or so feet away. We walked out into the grassy yard and they followed. As they moved, they frequently changed their speed from slow/hovering to fast--zipping around, almost dancing. They stayed near each other, but changed the distance b/t themselves too. I felt as if they were trying to communicate to us. I had a feeling of joy when this was going on. The spheres came quite close, maybe within 2 feet of us. They interacted with us or at least it appeared as if they were.

They flitted about and hovered, twinkling as they moved near to us and far, low and high. Towards the end of the encounter, the spheres moved higher and into our beautfiul pin oak tree. (I always loved that tree) Strangely, they seemed to be playing as they moved around in and out of the branches. After about 20 seconds in the tree, the orbs moved up higher and at medium speed, progressively continued skyward until we could no longer see them. I felt almost sad when they went away. We were stunned and have mentioned it to each other only once in a while over the years.

I just spoke with my brother last nite about it to confirm again that it really happened and that we had the same experience and memory of it. Tonite, for the first time, I looked it up on google. I don't know why I have never researched the topic before. But I just came across Sunni's story and it was sooo similar to ours! When it happened, I knew I wasn't crazy, b/c my brother and I both saw them, but it is great to know that someone else out there has seen them too.
