Is My House Haunted?

My family and I moved into this house about 18 months ago, and have had nothing but trouble ever since. I am not a believer in paranormal activity, at least not until now. I do like movies and books about such things but otherwise to me it is all just entertainment. However, with that said I must say that we have had some very strange and unexplainable events happen while living here.

The very first night we moved in, my wife and I, being tired from all the moving, went to bed to just relax and go to sleep. It was just after midnight when all of the smoke alarms started to go off, (4 of them), and they would not stop until I disconnected them.

There is one area in the house that is always cold, even in the summertime! This is not an old house, it was built in the 1980's so the house is insulated and the windows are sound, no drafts.

We constantly, at least a few times per week hear footsteps across the floor in the living room extending to the kitchen...and NO it is not the expansion and contraction of the floor boards or anything else that can be explained by physics.

We all have seen shadows moving around in the house at all times of the day or night, none of which can be explained, and they are not just "out of the corner of the eye" either.

All of our fish died in 4 days...after having them for just over a year.

There are flies that we just can NOT get rid of. I have checked all of the drains and bleached disenfected and poured all manner of cleaners down, as well as checked the basement floor drain, around the base of the toilets, anywhere that might support the growth of larvae, nothing, but there are ALWAYS flies present, ALL YEAR ROUND! Also, there are wasps inside the walls somewhere, as we are always finding them in the basement as well, all year round!!!

Lights have turned on occasionally by themselves, and sometimes things fall from where they are without any explaination whatsoever.

There is a high amount of static on our phone, we have had the repairmen out to check lines, we have replaced the phones 5 times and still no fix.

Appliances are continually breaking down, as well as many other electrical devices, several digital cameras, mp3 players, DVD players, kitchen appliances, and computer hard drives, I have gone through 8 hard drives in the last 18 months, as well as 3 motherboards, one that actually burned up!

We all have had our own experiences in this house! My daughter is a very intellectual young lady, but she says she is frightened to be alone most of the time, she has never acted like this before we moved here, and she never really says that she thinks it is ghosts, she just "doesn't feel good alone".

There are smells that I cannot explain and they are not always present but always noticed in the stairwell. Not a pleasant odour either! Like really dirty old footwear.

Things go missing and then found somewhere that has already been checked!

I have never had so many headaches that render me useless, and they always last about a day. Usually one or two times per week! I have gone to the doctor about this but he has no explaination for this either.

My wife and I have a very very good relationship, and we love each other deeply, and we have always maintained our disagreements to civil discussions that we have always been able to resolve amicably, but we have never had fights like we have had since moving here. Nothing violent. Not that I haven't had thoughts like that, just that I think I am stronger than that! I have never seen my wife look so mean at these times!

I swear to god if this house isn't haunted then I am really losing my mind along with the rest of my family!

I think there is more to tell but I am just overwhelmed after spilling out this much, that I can't think of anything else to tell.

We are moving in a couple of weeks anyway...and I am really hoping that it doesn't follow us as some people that have repeatedly told us that our house is haunted say can happen. How can we make sure this doesn't happen?

I still would rather hear an explaination that fits within the boudaries of physics.
