Man in White
From: Gina Hallas () Story type: Ghost Location: Grandmother's house Source: Form Submission
When I was about twelve, I was visiting my grandmother's house. Her house was deep in the Rocky Mountains and was built near an ancient Indian Burial ground. I used to find arrowheads and other artifacts in the forest. I went to visit her one summer and stayed in a small guest bedroom. Nothing strange happened until one night. I was sleeping peacefully until I was disturbed by a breaking noise downstairs. I grabbed a heavy book just in case it was a burglar. But when I reached the source of the breaking noise, all I found was a broken lamp. Thinking it was the cat, I turned back. I was half-way through the hallway when I felt an icy chill. It was so cold my teeth chattered. i was nowhere near an air vent, and all the windows were closed. I stopped and heard footsteps coming from behind me. I ran into my room and hid under the covers. I peeked outside but saw nothing.
The next day, I told my grandmother about the experience and she said it may have been due to the Burial Ground. She said the previous owner had been driving home one night and his car went off the road and crashed just a few hundred feet away from the house. She thinks it may be his ghost haunting the house. The next night, I slept easier knowing it was not demon or other evil being in the house, just a harmless ghost. Before I went to bed, I headed to the livingroom just to check things out. All the livingroom lights were off and the only light came from the kitchen.
As I headed to my bedroom, my heart went in my throat when I saw a man in the kitchen. He was facing the window and was dressed completley in white.I could tell his features clearly. He had brown hair, was clean shaven and cut. He looked out the window for a few seconds and turned to me. I gasped and he vanished. I stood there for a few minutes, a little shocked, but not frightened. I then returned to my room and went back to sleep. I shall never forget that strange man in white. thankyou.
