My Grandfather's NDE

After my grandfather passed away, my mother told me this story:

The last few years of his life, my grandfather suffered a lot of heart trouble. At one point, he was rushed into surgery due to heart failure. Sometime during the operation, he died.

According to my mother, he said that he felt himself float out of his body, coming to rest directly beneath the ceiling. He could hear the doctors beneath him operating, and wanted to turn over so he could see what was going on. However, he was unable to move, and became very frustrated. Within an undetermined period of time, his heart was started, and he went back into his body (thus losing consciousness).

Upon coming to, he asked the attending physician if he had died during the procedure. The doctor replied in the affirmative, and asked how my grandfather had known. He described his experience to the doctor, even down to the precise words that had been spoken while the medical staff was trying to revive him. The doctor verified that those were indeed the worda that had been spoken at that time.

Aften leaving the hospital, my grandfather set about putting things in order. He seemed to know that he didn't have very long. Shortly thereafter, he passed to the other side of the veil.

Knowing that there is life after death gives me hope. I miss my grandfather, and it is good to know I'll be able to see him again.
