My Guardian Angel Saved Me

In the Summer of 2004, on August 21, when I was eight years old, I was in a horse field with my horse a day before a horse show I was competing in. There was a strip of trees between the barn and part of the field. I was on the other side where nobody could see me. I was just out there petting the horses, happy as can be.

Suddenly I heard someone calling my name. I ran and everything went blank. I woke up in the hospital 3 days later. They asked me if I knew where I was and if i knew what had happened. I knew I was in the hospital, but had no idea what had happened. They told me I had slipped in mud, hit a rock, I became unconscious and one of the horses had run over the left side of my face, crushing my skull.

The team at the hospital that had worked on me had inserted two titanium plates into my face, one through the inside of my mouth, the other through my eye. I had gotten 15 stitches, 10 on my chin, and 5 just above my nose, where the horse had broken my skin open.

I went home a couple of days later, and sat at home for a half a month. I missed a half a month of school. People kept coming to visit me while my sisters were at school. It got really boring once nobody came to visit anymore.I finally got my stitches out, and could go back to school. That day, while someone in my class that I didn't know and I were taking something to the office, she became my best friend. I found a pile of cards on my desk.

Everyone says that the team that worked on me saved my life. But I know that with a little help by God, my Guardian Angel saved my life.
