No Way I Should Have Survived

I was 18yrs on the road beause of a fight with my family, I had left my home with no clothes, money or food, and I had no shelter.

It was about 1 am and cold, I had no food ,water or warmth. I had been walking on the northern highway of ontario for 4 days. No one would pick me up and I couldn't explain why. I was clean dressed, so there was no reason why someone shouldn't have picked me up. Looking around and shouting outloud, I thought I was going to die. Inexperienced in the wilderness I thought I wouldn't make it much further, and then without anything around, I heard a low piercing and kind of shrieking growl. It was the eeriest thing I've ever heard! I can still remember the sound today but I have not yet heard anything like it ever again.

I could hear it walking and crushing the branches and twigs in the woods about 20 yards from me. I couldn't see anything and then it growled again. I then crossed the road to try and get as far away as possible from whatever it was. "I was scared to death!". There were no lights, no cars, and no way for me to get away from the thing in the woods. It was still tracking me and I couldn't get away. Then I dont know how or where, but this police officer came from out of nowhere, just like that, here he was and he just looked at me and said " Are you O.K.?". I replied and said that there was something over in the woods and "I think it's going to kill me". I was crying.

The police officer looked at me with a smirk and told me everything would be alright. He said to go about half a mile up the road and that I would see a light. I was told to stay there and he'd come back to check on me later, and then he told me to have a good night. I couldn't see anything not even a star and when he drove away I looked up the road with tears in my eyes and "WOW" there was a light I could see! so then I walked about 20-30 feet turned around and the car was gone.. I mean literally gone. The highway was flat on both sides so I thought to my self where did he go? I came up to the light in about 2 minutes, there was a trucker there and he asked me where was I going and I said I didn't know. He said "Jump in and I'll let you off when I stop". I still don't know how the truck driver or police officer came to be, but I woke up in the middle of no where again. A car passed me, I walked on the road and looked up and down the road to find out where I had been. I couldn't remember anything bad and for some funny reason nothing too bad has ever happened.. yet. I got 3 boys a beautiful girlfriend and a whole lotta love. I blocked this event for about 2 yrs, but I remember now and always will, the sound of that growl and that fact that someone came to help me out of nowhere...and then disappeared back to nowhere...

This is a true to life story and I'm grateful for my "Guardian Angels".
