This has occured a number of times to me but I can only remember my experiences with OOBE from the age of 12. I remember lying on my aunt Shielas couch ( I had spent the night) I heard my aunt talking on the phone to somebody and I could hear her cooking breakfast in the kitchen. She kept walking past me but I guess she didnt see my eyes open because she didnt say anything to me. I was looking at her walking back and forth between the kitchen and the living room but when I tried to get up to get something to eat my body wouldnt move. It was like I was paralyzed. This feeling lasted only about 10 seconds, but as I get older the time length of these experiences seem to become longer.

I dont remember it happening again until I was 14. I was over a different aunts house ( spending the night again). This time I could hear the telivision in the background and then I tried to open my eyes but then when I opened them my eyelids became weak and hard to keep open and my eye sight was blurry, and the light from the window seemed to irritate my eyes, so I closed my eyes again but I tried to move and get out the bed but once again I could not move. I struggled for what to me seemed like at least a good 20-30 minutes. Finally when I realized I wasnt able to move I began tryin to call my aunt for help, but when I tried to yell no sound came out.

The most recent experience was the other night. Iam now 16 by the way. I was talking to my boyfriend on my cell phone. It was about 2:17 am and I was exhausted but neither of us wanted to get of the phone. My boyfriend told me that he would call me right back. I said ok and hung up. With in a matter of minutes I had dosed off to sleep. he had called me back about 8 minutes later. I had my phone under my head ( it was on vibrate). I felt the phone vibrate on my head and I awoke with my eyes wide open but when I tried to reach for the phone I realized that once again I could not move. It seemed to me that I was only struggling for a matter of minutes but when I finally checked the phone it said that the phone call came at about 2:24 and when I looked at the time it was about 3:33am.

Till this day I still panic and struggle when this occurs. I talked to my mother and she said that she had similar experiences when she was young but the difference was she would be standing over herself looking at her body as if she has came out of it. She told me the best thing to do is relax and dont struggle.

I wondered what this paralyzed feeling was and then the other night I was watching this show called " In your wildest dreams" were this women tells people what there dreams mean. The had mentioned something about how you often forget your dreams because they are a part of your short term memory. She goes on to say that the dream that we do remeber are usually the ons that resemble movies, with clear color and sound. She said this is caused by rapid eye movement. she says it occur sometimes and what it does is it sort of paralyzes your body and the only thing that moves is your eyes. I thought that maybe thes OBE experiences I was encountering were cause by rapid eye movement. Maybe I was experiencin this in my sleep and then my eyes open or I wake up when Iam not suppose to, or while my body is still in this paralyzed state and that is why I cannot move.

If any body has some similar experiences or can tell me a littlle bit about it feel free to email. Iam curious to find out why there are always phones involed when these oobe occur.
