Street Lights

I'm not quite sure which category this falls under, but I am hoping that someone who reads this might have an idea of what I am describing...

I have noticed for some time now that VERY often if I am outdoors during the evenings when the streetlights are on, a light will burn out (turn off) as I am passing under it.

It used to happen very regularly, enough so that it was noticeable, even if only to me in the beginning. After some time, other people began to notice the same kind of pattern when they were with me. When walking or even driving beneath a street light, the light would go out as I passed beneath it. This has happened in various locations, even in different cities.

At times it seems to happen more frequently than others. There was a period of about 2 years when this happened regularly, then seemed to subside. Then again about a year or so later, it started happening again, more frequently than the last occurrence and lasting again for close to a year or two.

I'm not sure if anyone has had a similar experience before, or perhaps has heard of anything like this, but if you have, please let me know! It sounds bizarre, but also seems too strange to just chalk it up to coincidence...
