Sweetie

My dad and I were traveling back from Oklahoma on New Years Eve. It was snowing, and there was a lot of ice on the road. I had just visited with my mom and sisters at a truck stop (they live in Texas and we met halfway). Well, it was dark and my dad couldn't see that far ahead of him.
We finally got home, only to receive a message from my grandma (on my mom's side) saying that my great grandma, whom we called Sweetie, had died that night. I was really upset about it, so upset that I couldn't have a good time for the rest of the night. All I could think about was how much Sweetie wanted to live to see the year 2000.
The next morning, my dad went out to start the car, and to his amazement, it wouldn't start. When he had it towed to work (he's a mechanic) he found that something was broken (obvoiously). He told us later at dinner that there was no way that the car should have made it through the trip. I knew then that Sweetie had been looking after us that night.
When I talked to my sister later the next day, she said that they had hit a patch of black ice, but didn't wreck the car. She said they spun around a few times, but miraculously stayed on the road. I knew that Sweetie was looking after them, too.
To this day, I still believe that Sweetie was our Guardian Angel and that she still is looking after us.
