Angelic Nurse

In summer of 1988 I had my neck broken in a freak accident by a chiropractor. I was in the Trauma unit's ICU department at Northwestern Hospital and feeling scared that I may not ever walk again and not having my family with me since they all lived in another state. The first night that I arrived, a really kind nurse with short blond hair and fair skin came to my bed and held my hand. She looked at me and said in a very kind gentle voice, "You have a guardian angel watching over you." I was in a lot of pain at the time and I just smiled at her.

A few minutes later, another nurse came in and I said, "Who was that nice nurse who just came in here?" She said, "No one." The nurse asked me how did she look like and I told her. When I explained to her what happened, she said you really must have a guardian angel. You are really lucky.

A few days later my family arrived right before having surgery to fuse my cervical spine. The doctors said I may not walk again, but after a few weeks, I was able to walk out of the hospital with just a cane.

It was really a miracle and I know without a shadow of a doubt that a guardian angel was with me the entire time.
