On 9 Feburary 2004 my daughter Amie was in a serious car accident. She was the only one in the car and she had just dropped her kids off, she was 26 years old.
She never wore a seat belt. She had stopped at a little convience store to get a soda and a pack of cigarettes. She heard something tell her "put on your seat belt". She did and she drove off. She lives in Montana and I live in North Carolina. I felt funny all day long and now I know why.
She was traveling along and her car hit a patch of black ice and Amie lost control, the guard rail T-boned her car through the driver side door. She died.
I got a phone call from her mother-in-law and she told me all about Amie's accident. She also told me she was being sent to Seattle, WA as that is the very best trauma center on the West coast. I immediately got reservations to fly out there, my husband got a flight out that night.
On my way to be with my daughter, I kept hearing a voice tell me "Mom, she will be ok, it is going to take a long time, but Amie will be ok". That voice was my oldest son Brad that had been killed in a car accident in 1992.
When I got to the hospital I had just missed Amie as they took her to surgery 15 minutes prior. For the next 8 hours I waited in her room for her to return. When they finally wheeled her back into ICU she was totally knocked out and had so many wires and things hooked up to her.
During the next couple of days, she would come to and ask all frantic, "where am I" My husband and I would tell her what happened and where she was and all she could say was "The ice!" and she would be out again.
On the 3rd day I was sitting right next to her bed and she opened her eyes and said "Mom, when my car rolled, flipped and landed upside down, I saw Brad and Grandpa". I was at peace and they told me that I had to go back as my kids needed me and that my parents could not handle the loss of another child".
Now 4 years later she still has problems but has improved so much and she is alive. Angels were with her and they saved her. Thank you
