When I was younger, my mom worked at the jail. She had the night shift, so my older brother and I would stay at our grandma and grandpa's house either until she got off of work or all night, our choice. Well, one night, my brother decided to stay and I went home with my mom. I was really relaxed that night and I fell asleep in the car.

Since she didn't have enough time in the day, she did alot of stuff at night, and usually she would bring me and one of her friends and we'd both stay in the car. It was winter and she would always wrap me up in a comforter and let me lay in the back seat.

I woke up and she had already carried me inside. I was sitting on the couch, though. My mom was sitting on the floor wrapping me up in the blanket. "How can I be right here if I'm over there?" I asked myself, aloud. "Mommy, what's going on?" I said, this time to my mom. No answer. "Mommy?! Mommy! Answer me!" She didn't even look up. I started to cry. "Mommy, am I dead?" I really thought I was. "NO!"

Then I flew from the couch back into my body. My body jumped and then was wide awake.

"Caitlin? Did you have a bad dream?" My mom asked me.

"I don't know." I said, my voice weak.

And that was the first time I was out of my body. And I was really young, so it really scared me. I think I was seven. I can't remember.
