Too Real Not to be True

One night I suddenly opened my eyes. It was dead silent in my room. I felt my body floating upwards as I looked at the ceiling. As soon as I got close enough to the ceiling I reached above and pushed on the ceiling to prevent myself from floating further. I then turned around and looked below to see myself still asleep under my blanket. I continued to float and decided to explore the rest of my apartment. As I said earlier it was dead silent. There was some light in my apartment coming from the street lights outside. I also had my bathroom light on.

I continued floating around and decided to look for anything in my apartment not normally visible except from above looking down. I saw my fishnet behind and below my aquarium stand that I had lost several weeks ago. I saw items behind my stove and refrigerator such as forks and spoons that I didn't know were there. I then floated toward the lanai and looked out the glass sliding doors at the night sky (I lived on the 4th floor). I then opened the doors and had thoughts of flying out into the night.

Something told me not to go and I believed that I would not be able to return if I flew around outside. I also thought that if I was somehow sleepwalking (I have no history of sleepwalking), that I would plunge to my death below if continued outside the doors.

I then floated back above myself and saw that I was still fast asleep. I then turned around while in midair and floated back down towards myself. When I got back in I got out of bed and realized what had just happened. I turned on the lights and went to look for all the items I saw while floating in the air. Much to my surprise I then located all the items that I saw.

I really do believe this was a true experience and not just a dream. I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I did decide to fly outside. I probably wouldn't be here to tell my story.
