My current boyfriend and I met in Laramie, he was a student and I was just looking for my place in life. We moved into a nice house for rent, close enough for me to walk to work since I didn't have a car. Within the first couple weeks, we started noticing some very strange things.

One evening before work, my boyfriend Juan and I were sitting at the kitchen table, talking about random things. His phone rang and he went to answer it. We had been using an old beer can as an ash tray. When he answered his phone, he turned away and missed it, but I saw the can lift up off the table and drift towards the edge. I made Juan move and sat where he'd been sitting, leaning on the table at every possible angle, but the can wouldn't move again. Since he didn't see it himself, he didn't believe it, until he looked at our cat.

While we had been talking, our cat had been asleep on a chair next to the heater. When he looked over at her, she was sitting bolt upright, staring at the wall above his head behind him, with very large eyes. My cat is not easily excitable; as soon as he saw where she was staring, he felt a cold chill in his spine and some other worldly hand reach through him and grab his stomach. I told him to drive home that night to Colorado. He said the feelings didn't leave him until he crossed the Wyoming/Colorado border.

A few nights later, we started studying the apartment rather closely. What we found was far beyond scary. The bathroom door had three locks on it: two outside, one in. There's no reason for a bathroom door to have a lock on the outside, especially not a sliding chain lock. The door itself looked to have been kicked in numerous times, and the mirror looked replaced. From the bathroom door jamb all the way to the bedroom, the walls were covered in horizontal claw marks, about three feet off the ground. The bedroom door is also disturbing, as it has no door knob and the only lock is a dead bolt on the outside of it.

I have had experiences with ghosts before, and for some reason they like to put my body into sleep paralysis, where I'm not completely asleep, still conscious, but I can't move. The spirits in the apartment did the same thing to me for a week straight, but one in particular stuck with me: I saw and felt my spirit float up towards the ceiling, and heard one simple word. Rape.

We have since moved out of that apartment and can only pray for the safety of the new tenants.
