When I was about 7 years old I had experienced something odd in my childhood home. The first incident I remember hearing, someone downstairs, and footsteps coming up the stairs. I thought it was my stepdad. When I looked out to the stair landing I could hear the footsteps, but saw nothing. I try to attribute this to maybe a lack of sleep, but it was strange.

I moved to another home a few years later and remember something else.

The first thing I remember is being about 10 years old and playing hide and seek in the house, with the lights off. The same thing happened. I heard footsteps walk by me, and when I peaked from my hiding spot, I saw nothing. The footsteps were about two feet away from me, but I saw nothing there.

The next odd thing is my brother and his friends said the same thing. that they heard footsteps go by them, but saw nothing. And the person who was supposed to be seeking us was in a different part of the house at that time. It was not a scary experience. I try to blame noise distortions. It said electromagnetic fields can create this phenomena, and we were in the basement hiding near a furnace, and a water heater. So maybe that was it.

I started hearing knocking at my door at night. I blamed my brother for trying to wake me up, but he said it wasn't him. I heard weird stuff at night. Chairs being dragged across the floor. It never got too weird.

I never experienced anything like that now that I am older. I remember having an overhead stove fan that automatically turned on at night once. Nothing weird. Nothing unfriendly and scary, or even that ghostly.
